The Exercises

I am on a mission to get fitter and healthier using various techniques.  I am fast approaching 42 years old and whilst lucky in my health have a bit of a dodgy knee that has in the past derailed my running career.  So whilst running is my main aim and the thing I actually like to do, I am looking for other things to do that are cheap or free and can be done with or without my little people.

Initially when I started this I was doing stuff with my husband and daughter and they would give me a succession of exercises for about 10 minutes.  I haven’t done this for a while as everyone has been busy but I like the idea still of 10 minute sessions that I can do whenever I can.  So hopefully I will get the family involved again but if not You Tube is going to become my new best friend.  I have had a quick look and there are things out there so I will be posting links to ones that I think are good.

Below are some of the terms my daughter named the exercises she wanted me to do alongside the actual exercises:

The CatHands on the ground so you are on all fours like a cat.  Walk around as fast as you can.

The Kangaroo: Squat down to the floor so your knees are bent and jump as high as you can and then back down again.

The Frog: Squat down and jump around the garden (saying ribbit is optional).

The Cheetah: Sprint as fast as you can a certain distance.

The Snake: Lie on the floor and wiggle around.
